Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Who would have thought that
the little city in the hills of Northwest Arkansas would be the pride
Built in the late 1800’s, the town grew and word spread quickly that this was the “place to be” for all kinds of healing, relaxation, and rejuvenation. The town today is still a Mecca for those seeking a resort spa experience. Body workers abound, and there is no shortage of things to do and see that will replenish the soul and make your heart sing.
Eureka’s nature to welcome ALL who choose to visit. Eureka has a very
diverse population. We’re Victorian in style, not in attitudes. Yes, we
have a 7 story Jesus that sits atop East Mountain at the Passion Play
grounds. But we’re also home to many art galleries, fine dining
establishments, and some of the best nightclubs in the region. Eureka
has many passions and play is important!
One question that always comes up is “where are the gay bars?” – Well, none of them are designated ‘gay only’, but then none of them are designated ‘straight only’ either. Most of the nightclubs are either gay owned or very gay friendly. Check the Sponsor pages for those in town that are especially welcoming to the GLBT visitors.
to stay, where to stay? Eureka has many lodging choices from motel
rooms to exquisite B&B;’s to luxury cabins. You’ll find the perfect
accommodations either in our sponsor section or on the Alternative
Section of the Eureka Springs Tourist Center. A perfect pad for every
budget and taste.
While we may look like San Francisco complete with Trolleys and hilly streets, Eureka has also been called Little Switzerland as we have that European feel. We’re much more laid back than Palm Springs or P-Town, but you’ll find that everybody is somebody in Eureka. You can be who you are, or who you want to be. No need to leave those brand new pumps at home, but beware some of our streets are a bit tricky in sling-backs.
If what gets you hot is the great outdoors, then Eureka is for you. Our natural beauty beckons you with hiking trails, crystal clear lakes, streams and more flora and fauna than a drag queen’s closet. Bring your camera so you can take memories of Eureka home with you.
If this is your first trip to Eureka, head on over to the Talk section of this site and converse with folks who make Eureka their home away from home. You’ll get some great advice on what to do, where to stay, where to party, where to shop, and all the great places to dine. You even might find of bit of info on where NOT to go.
even in Eureka we have a handful who prefer to live in the dark ages –
not many, but every town needs a bigot or two and because we welcome
diversity, we welcome them too. It’s a Southern thing to be nice, so if
you run into one of these unfortunate souls, just smile and say “Poor
thing, bless your heart.”
Make your plans now and don’t wait for a planned event to visit Eureka, we’re ready to play any time! Come let your passions shine!
